Hello. I am known as Emi, Emil, or Eggy; Sir Egglington and Crimson Gaara online. I am a 23-year-old Englishman currently residing in Southampton, within the United Kingdom.

I started cosplaying seven years ago at the age of 16 despite having horrendous self-esteem issues back then; I remember feeling worried I'd be judged, but at the same time, excited and happy to embrace my inner nerdy artist!

My first costume was Ebay-bought; Gaara from Naruto. You can still view some of my earlier work, from when I was just starting out, in my gallery now. I don't like to remove my old work purely because I think it's a symbol of how far I've come, and how much I've grown as a cosplayer, and I hope that if you view my gallery you can also see how far I've come; even if it's subtle.

For me, it has always been difficult juggling the struggles of daily life with a hobby that’s both demanding and rewarding as cosplay is; I've never really been able to set extreme goals due to the restraints of reality but I always try my best. What's important to me is my passion for this hobby; and I like to think that my approach and style of cosplay is something that's unique and innovative (I have received feedback telling me as such so it seems like I've achieved this!)

I do look up to a lot of other cosplayers and still watch a few cosplayers I discovered back in my early days; but I think the sole person that's influenced my unique style is my lovely mum. She's always encouraged me to embrace my creativity and express myself through artwork, and I think her raising me to think this has influenced my way of thinking, my attitude, and ultimately my approach to cosplay. I understand that there's a commonly attractive method of cosplaying; I personally would rather put my own spin on it when I can. I've found that I can only motivate myself to work on outfits I'm passionate about; for characters I love and feel a fundamental connection to, and series I adore. A lot of what I've cosplayed currently is from anime, but I would really like to broaden my horizons and cosplay from films, live-action television series, and games I enjoy as well.

With terms of cosplay; I don't preach about it being 'just for fun' – You have the right to have your own reason to cosplay, just don't be an ass about it to other people. My philosophy is; no matter what, don't forget your reason to cosplay. Hold onto it, and remember what you hope to get out of it and continue on with it! However, I think everyone should have a positive view on cosplay and shouldn't impress their reason to cosplay onto other people; we should embrace that there's casual cosplayers, serious cosplayers, artistic cosplayers, etc.

Cosplay has brought me many loyal friends, a chance at romantic relationships, boosted my confidence, and even some temporary career opportunities. Cosplay has completely changed me as a person, I've really come out of my shell because of it and I will never forget that I wish to express myself through cosplay with an artistic approach. I don't think I can ever give up cosplay, despite some of its negative points.

Thank you for visiting (and reading, if you did!) and I hope you enjoy my work!

PLEASE DON'T THANK ME.

I appreciate your gracious courtesy, but I do consider comments thanking me for joining groups, giving llamas, faving deviations, and watching you to be SPAM and I will report it as such!

I've already featured your work in my Favourites, please do not use my page as an advertising bulletin. I consider it to be somewhat rude!
